The Phoenix Suns have an opponent for the Western Conference Finals after the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Utah Jazz on Friday night.
However, the Suns may be without all-star point guard Chris Paul for the first matchup.
Paul is in the NBA’s health and safety protocols after testing positive for COVID-19 early this week.
His status for Game 1 isn’t fully determined, but Paul must test negative for two consecutive tests in 48 hours to be ruled eligible to play.
Suns guard Devin Booker says the team can’t just focus on Paul’s availability, they also have to focus on winning.
“It’s next man up, obviously a big part of our team and we don’t know if he’s gonna be available tomorrow or not, but we’re gonna be ready to play regardless.”
The Suns only won one of three matchups against Los Angeles this season, but the Clippers are also without star forward Kawhi Leonard indefinitely due to injury.
Game 1 of the series is in Phoenix on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
