Nearly a dozen progressive activists were arrested June 22 while protesting outside the Arizona office of Democratic U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, who has come under fire from progressives for her support of the Senate’s filibuster rule, among other positions.

Sinema, a one-time Green Party activist, has staked out a position in the Senate as one of the most conservative Democrats, making her a potential power broker in the narrowly-divided chamber.

To learn about Sinema, the filibuster and what Sinema’s support of it could mean for her political future, The Show spoke with Daniel Lippman, the White House and Washington reporter at Politico.
