As Convention Center Reopens, Downtown Phoenix Shows Signs Of Life After The Pandemic

Over the weekend, the Phoenix Convention Center welcomed back its first guests since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic as nearly 1,000 gathered for the American Dental Hygienists' Association conference.

Next up is the National Sheriffs' Association — and then the Volleyball Festival comes to town.

It’ll all bring thousands of people to downtown Phoenix, which has been something of a ghost town over the last year and a half. And it signals an important turning point in the city’s recovery from the pandemic.

The Show spoke with the Phoenix Business Journal’s Brandon Brown to learn more about the reopening's significance.
