Northern Arizona University has announced updated plans for the fall 2021 semester, including full in-person staffing.
Gov. Doug Ducey’s recent executive order, which affects all three state colleges, prevents the schools from requiring certain coronavirus mitigation measures.
Per the order, NAU cannot require COVID-19 vaccinations, but is strongly recommending that students and staff get vaccinated.
The university is no longer requiring masks in any setting, and only conducting COVID-19 testing if an outbreak is deemed to have occurred.
Classes and clubs are planned to operate at full capacity, and NAU expects both staff and faculty to meet in person by the start of the semester.
NAU’s fall semester starts Aug. 23.
