Arizona Regulators To Hear Feedback On Draft Utility Disconnection Rules

Thursday morning is the last chance to give state regulators direct input on draft rules for when extreme heat should prevent utilities from turning off customers’ power due to unpaid bills.

The Arizona Corporation Commission is scheduled to meet telephonically at 10.a.m. for final feedback on a proposed 95-degree threshold.

The commission’s June to mid-October ban on utilities cutting electricity for delinquent accounts stays in effect until the rules are finalized.
