Arizona Republic: Records Indicate Extent Of Trump Administration's Pressure On State In 2020 Presidential Election

When Maricopa County was still counting the ballots from the 2020 election, former President Donald Trump and his allies were launching an unprecedented attempt to change the election result.

Gov. Doug Ducey received — and ignored — a phone call from Trump as he was certifying the election results in a viral moment caught on camera. But the effort went far beyond Ducey.

Arizona Republic national politics reporter Yvonne Wingett Sanchez tracked down public records that show the full scope of that attempt to ensure Trump won that election, including text messages and voicemails from Trump, his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, and state GOP Chair Kelli Ward attempting to pressure the county supervisors.

The Show spoke with her to learn about her findings.
