Chandler To Award $10,000 In Diversity Grants

Chandler has budgeted $10,000 to award mini-grants to teachers, schools, nonprofits and community organizations.  The money will be divided into mini-grants up to a thousand dollars each.

Individuals or groups that provide services to Chandler residents or students are invited to apply. Priority will be given to diversity education projects or programs in schools.

Funded proposals will support the mission of the Chandler Human Relations Commission: to promote mutual respect and inclusion.

In a written statement, Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke said, “I’ve seen what this funding has been able to do for our schools — they’ve been able to create events to educate students about different cultures, which are great learning opportunities for Chandler students.”

Online applications opened July 1 and will be accepteduntil the funds run out. Questions about the application process can be directed to Niki Tapia with Chandler’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Division at [email protected].
