Even during the summer’s intense heat, mountains around the Valley are crowded with hikers of all sorts — from beginners to the most advanced.
Some are in training for another sport or activity, while others are focused on the climbing itself.
And that’s just outdoor hiking and climbing. There’s also indoor rock climbing, which is growing in popularity around the world and features participants of all ages.
Sierra Blair-Coyle began rock climbing as a little girl in grade school in the Valley and has since become one of the best in the field.
The Show spoke with her to learn about how she got involved — and became so exceptional at it.
