Lawyers For AZ Senate Object To Releasing Some Documents Related To Election Audit

The 2020 election may be over, but the courts are still dealing with the fallout.

On July 7, lawyers delivered oral arguments in a pair of cases relating to the 2020 election and the state Senate’s audit of that election in Maricopa County.

In one case, the state Senate is asking a Superior Court judge to block public records requests for information pertaining to the audit.

In the other, an attorney for the state asked a federal appeals court to let Arizona refuse to count early ballots that voters forgot to sign initially and did not fix by election night.

To break down arguments in the cases, The Show spoke with Howard Fischer of Capitol Media Services.
