The Twin Arrows Resort Casino east of Flagstaff, the Navajo Nation’s largest casino, is preparing to reopen for the first time since the pandemic began.
The resort will open its doors on Monday for the first time since March 2020.
Navajo President Jonathan Nez recently signed legislation that allows visitors to travel on the reservation, which allowed Twin Arrows to reopen with a few changes in policy.
The casino will operate at 50% capacity with limited hours, and will require temperature checks and masks for patrons.
Smoking is no longer allowed indoors, and the casino’s buffet will be closed.
Despite low case numbers in recent weeks, Navajo Nation leaders are still encouraging residents to wear masks and get vaccinated.
