How Child Tax Credit Payments Could Impact Arizona Families

If you have kids, your bank account may be a little fatter today.

Child Tax Credit payments go out July 15 to potentially 39 million families, benefitting an estimated 1.5 million children.

It’s part of the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan passed by Congress earlier this year. And experts say it could have a massive impact on child poverty — even reducing it by half.

What kind of economic impact might we see as a result of this here in Arizona? For more on that, The Show spoke with University of Arizona economist George Hammond.
