For Generation Z, Hyram Yarbro is the authority on all things skin care.
Aside from being on TikTok, Yarbro is also all over YouTube, Instagram and everywhere else on social media. And he’s made a name for himself by analyzing the ingredients and effectiveness — or not — of various skin care products and teaching people how to take care of their skin.
Since he’s really become a famous influencer — or "skinfluencer" — his thumbs up or down can make or break a skincare product. The Guardian recently called him Gen Z’s skin care savior.
Now, he’s out with his own skin care line — Selfless by Hyram — and he’s also from Arizona.
He grew up on a cattle ranch in Paulden in a Mormon family, but left Arizona — and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints — at age 18 and moved to Hawaii, where he came to terms with his sexuality and began making videos about skin care while working various retail jobs.
The Show spoke with him and started the conversation to learn about his childhood in rural Arizona.
