Several Arizona National Forests Lifting Fire Restrictions

Recent rain and cooler temperatures have several national forests in Arizona lifting fire restrictions.

As temperatures drop, forest officials in Arizona are lifting the restrictions that were put in place due to the threat of severe wildfires.

All fire restrictions in the Apache-Sitgreaves and Coconino forests have been lifted. Kaibab Prescott and Tonto are reducing restrictions on campfires and shooting.

Forest officials continue to urge people to avoid activities that may cause fires particularly on dry and windy days. According to the Arizona Department of Forestry, more than 1,100 fires have burned across Arizona as of June.
