For an eighth straight day, Arizona health officials are reporting over 1,000 new daily coronavirus cases — 1,441 on July 26.
As Arizona is seeing cases go up, hospitalizations are going up as well. Over the course of the past four months, unvaccinated people have accounted for 98% of deaths and 94% of COVID-related hospitalizations.
Vaccinations have been available for all Arizonans over age 12 since mid-May, but nearly half of the state’s population has yet to get their shot.
