Final rules for sports betting in Arizona have been released and are now available on the Arizona Department of Gaming’s website.
Spokesman Max Hartgraves said fantasy sports will be rolled out first, with bettors able to start participating on Aug. 28.
“That is our planned go-live dates for fantasy sports. And then on Sept. 9, that is our planned go-live date for event wagering. So Arizonans should be able to wager on those two types of games fairly soon,” Hartgraves said.
The Sept. 9 target date coincides with the opening night of the NFL’s regular season, which falls less than 150 days after Gov. Ducey and tribal leaders signed an expansive new compact.
