The Phoenix Film Festival started 21 years ago, and its latest incarnation begins Aug. 12.

The festival has implemented a number of changes — some related to cleanliness and sanitizing, others related to how films are presented.
The Show spoke with the festival’s executive director, Jason Carney, and asked him whether it’s going to look and feel more like the most recent mid-pandemic festival or a pre-pandemic festival.
