Scottsdale Immigration Attorney Helping Afghan Interpreter Come To The U.S.

An immigration attorney from a Scottsdale firm is helping an Afghan interpreter nicknamed “Zabi” get a visa to come to the U.S.

Darius Amiri is with the Rose Law group and says Zabi qualifies for a special visa, but it’s been held up because he was not discharged appropriately.

"And the person who had to do the HR paperwork wrote it up as he had abandoned his post, but I’ve got letters from many of the people that he served with and beyond that say that that’s just not the case, it was a misunderstanding," Amiri said.

Amiri is helping Zabi after an old high school friend, who led a marine platoon in Afghanistan, told him of his interpreter, Zabi.

Zabi and his wife are currently at the Kabul airport.
