Study Says Solar Could Account For 40% Of Grid By 2035

A Department of Energy study has found that solar could account for as much as 40% of the power grid by 2035.

The study outlined three scenarios, including a business-as-usual approach.

Even that approach would lead to lower carbon emissions.

The cost of solar has gone down in the last decade as the industry advances.

In one scenario, policy changes combined with technology upgrades could help the nation come close to zero emissions, without increasing electric bills.
