Task Force Can Help With Pets Affected By Evictions

Since the Supreme Court ended Biden’s eviction moratorium in August, pets are more at risk of being abandoned.

But the Arizona Humane Society prepared for the eviction moratorium last year and put a plan in place.

Spokeswoman Bretta Nelson says it established the Pet Housing Help AZ Task Force.

“What the task force does is it expands foster programs for owned animals. It also works very closely on collaboration with human and health service agencies. We also developed a specialized website pethousinghelpaz.org” Nelson said.

Arizona pet owners who need help can visit the website, which features bilingual resources that are free or low cost. They also can connect with fellow pet owners in the Valley to temporarily home their pets in a foster system or rehome them.
