2,000+ COVID-19 Patients In Arizona Hospital Inpatient Beds For 12th Straight Day

Arizona Department of Health Services reported 2,765 new COVID-19 cases and 6 additional deaths on Sunday, continuing a surge that began in July.

More than 2,100 hospital inpatient beds are in use by COVID-19 patients, as well as more than 550 intensive care unit beds.

COVID-19 patients have occupied more than 2,000 inpatient beds every day this month.

Arizona has 3.6 million fully vaccinated residents, totaling just under 50% of the state’s population.

That number is about 4% behind the national average, and places Arizona 29th in state population fully vaccinated.
