A new survey shows that despite efforts made by the state health department and local and federal governments over the last six months, many unvaccinated Arizonans are still unwilling to get the shot.
Earlier this month OH Predictive Insights surveyed a thousand Arizonans and found 22% have not changed their minds about getting the COVID-19 vaccine. And the majority of those unvaccinated say that even recent news of the surging delta variant did not affect their decision.
The poll also found Gov. Doug Ducey’s approval rating on combating the pandemic increased since July, with 48% approving and 42% disapproving. But most who make up the base of his approval were also surveyed to be less concerned about the spread of COVID-19.
It’s the first time since January Arizonans, overall, are more pessimistic than optimistic about the COVID-19 pandemic.
This September’s Arizona Public Opinion Pulse (AZPOP) conducted by OH Predictive Insights was done from Sept. 7-12, 2021, and surveyed the general population of Arizonans (18+ YO) with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
