Before the so-called Maricopa County election audit began, Republican state Senate President Karen Fann assured voters that the process would be absolutely transparent. But since April, data about how this audit is being conducted — and by whom — has been largely unavailable. And there have been repeated barriers thrown before the reporters who are covering it.
In August, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge John Hannah ordered that the auditing firm, Cyber Ninjas, must turn over records pertaining to internal communications between Ninja CEO Doug Logan and the audit organizers.
Last week, Hannah re-iterated the order — and as of Sept. 23, Cyber Ninjas has still not complied with that ruling.
Jerod MacDonald-Evoy has been covering the audit for the Arizona Mirror.
