Hans Hughes, who served as an ambassador for downtown Phoenix, died Sept. 21, about a month after he was hit by an alleged drunk driver while riding his bike home from work.
The 43-year-old Hughes was a beloved figure in the community, known by many for being friendly, outgoing, positive and energetic while helping people navigate the downtown area.
A candlelight vigil to honor Hughes is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Sept. 25 at the Heritage Square Park’s Lath House Pavilion.
