The Arizona Cardinals defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, 31-19. The Cardinals are now 3-0 for the first time since 2015, the last time the team made the postseason.
The Cardinals faced a 9-point deficit in the second half, but head coach Kliff Kingsbury says the team was able to keep its composure and bounce back.
“We’ve got a great group of vets. There was no panic. Guys didn’t blink. Even when we went down two scores, guys didn’t blink, so I was really proud of that effort,” said Kingsbury.
At the end of the first half, the Cardinals attempted and missed what would have been an NFL record 68-yard field goal, which led to an NFL record-tying 109 yard return touchdown for Jacksonville’s Jamal Agnew.
The Cardinals will head to Los Angeles to play the Rams next Sunday, looking to start the season 4-0 for the first time since the team moved to Arizona.
