Tempe is loosening vaccine requirement for concerts and outdoor events

The Tempe City Council is loosening requirements to attend concerts at the Tempe Center for the Arts and large outdoor events.

Councilmember Lauren Kuby says she doesn’t agree with her fellow council members and they should stick with the current proof of vaccination requirement.

“The city of Tempe requires vaccinations at our indoor public events and outdoor events as well. What we did move away from was that sole restriction. We’re now allowing 72 hour tests in lieu of a vaccination,” Kuby said.

Kuby says she doesn’t agree with it because a person can become infected with COVID-19 in the 72-hour period.
