The Show regularly checks in with the Editorial Board of the Arizona Republic to talk about current issues facing the state and the region — featured in columns on the newspaper’s op-ed pages.
Gov. Doug Ducey ran into public opposition — and now legal opposition, as well — for his attempts to distribute federal COVID-19-related funding in a way that aligns with his political views. That specifically came into play with how he wanted to reward schools that didn’t have mask mandates with more per-pupil money.
In a weekend column, Bob Robb of the Republic argued that Ducey was focused too much on political pandering with that approach.
To discuss the column, The Show spoke with Robb’s colleague and editorial page editor of the Republic, Phil Boas.
