Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is continuing to see a rebound in passenger traffic numbers.
Spokesperson Greg Roybal says September statistics show the airport is nearly back to pre-pandemic numbers.
"It is only 4.6% lower than September of 2019, which as you recall, 2019 was our record-breaking year. So we are just under that record-breaking year when you compare months," Roybal said.
He also says the rebound is happening faster than they expected.
Last month, Sky Harbor reported its August passenger numbers were up 63% from the same time in 2020.
