Public input sought to shape future development of Old Town Scottsdale

Scottsdale residents and business owners are being asked to weigh in on future development in Old Town.

Old Town Scottsdaleis designated by the following districts:

  • Historic Old Town
  • Civic Center
  • Scottsdale Fashion Square
  • Arizona Canal
  • Scottsdale Arts
  • Fifth Avenue
  • Entertainment
  • Brown & Stetson
  • Medical
  • Garden

How those districts should change or stay the same are key parts to the character area plan. The plan guides growth and development based on the city council’s direction.

On Nov. 15, Scottsdale will host meetings to gather public input to draft updates to the plan. Public hearings will follow and the council is expected to vote early next year.

The in-person open house sessions will be held at SkySong, 1365 N. Scottsdale Road, Bldg. SkySong 3, Room Synergy 1. The sessions will run from 8:30-10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Sessions were previously held on Oct. 18 and 25. Register at https://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/planning-development/long-range-planning/character-area-plans/old-town-character/updates

Online self-guided sessions also provide the opportunity to provide input at https://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/planning-development/long-range-planning/character-area-plans/old-town-character/updates.
