Arizona’s independent redistricting commission came out with its recommendations for the state’s congressional and legislative boundaries last week.
The maps are now undergoing the next step in the process.
In 2000, Arizona voters passed a proposition that took the job of redrawing the state’s political maps each decade from the Legislature and gave it to an independent commission.
The panel recently released its proposals for the new districts, and the public has until Dec. 4 to weigh in on them.
A virtual town hall has been scheduled for Nov. 6 and voters can also comment online.
Statewide meetings are being scheduled and will be announced later. For more information on how to submit feedback, go to irc.az.gov.
