Health care and warehouse jobs expected to grow through 2030

Many job sectors are expected to grow at assuring rates throughout the decade.

While the state’s Office of Economic Opportunity says all sectors will grow an average of 2.2% annually, some sectors will see higher growth than others.

The department estimates that employment at medical clinics will grow by more than 4% annually, along with nursing homes.

It says warehouse employment will increase by about 5% every year, with courier services growing about 4%

That’s because of the increase in online purchases instead of buying in store, which was heightened by the pandemic.

Nationally, online buying rose to a height of 15%, and even though the number is slightly lower now, it says it will likely continue to go up.

The report also predicts employment at stores selling electronics, hobby gear and books will likely decline as a result of people buying online.
