Pima County is experiencing a high number of COVID-19 cases in its schools.
Brian Eller, the county health department’s COVID-19 school liaison, says there have been 738 cases reported in schools across the county.
“We do know that last year there was a lot more classroom closures, there were remote learning options, hybrid learning options so there was limited interaction and there was a lot more masking going on," Eller said.
Eller said due to the lack of mask wearing, the schools have closed 82 classrooms to prevent the spread of the virus.
