Cooler temperatures in northern Arizona are translating into favorable conditions for managing the state’s forests. That could mean visitors will see smoke when they travel to the mountains.
Arizona forest managers have begun to take advantage of the fall weather, with prescribed burns near Young, Strawberry, Flagstaff and other locations.
Visitors to the Young area can expect to see smoke this week, and motorists are urged to watch out for firefighters when driving.
Haze from the fire could last throughout the week and make its way to Forest Lakes, OW Ranch and Canyon Fish Hatchery.
