For decades, National Park Service employees at the Grand Canyon’s River District had been filing complaints about sexual harassment of female workers and active gender- and race-based discrimination. Many women spoke of the dangers of working in the vast, isolated spaces within the parks and how male employees used those conditions to prey on female coworkers.
In 2000 and again in 2016, the National Park Service and the Department of the Interior addressed these complaints by conducting surveys and investigations — but the reports were not surfaced by the agency, and no significant action was taken as a result.

Now she’s out with another story about what the Park Service did with its own report into the issue.
