The gender pay gap persists in the United States despite decades of progress for women in many aspects of life.
There are obvious discriminatory reasons in our society for this. But there are also various theories as to why women don’t make as much as men — including that women just aren’t as competitive — they don’t go for the high stakes jobs or want to compete at the highest levels.
Research has actually backed this idea up in the past, but Mary L. Rigdon took it a step further in her research — and found something new.
Rigdon is the associate director of the University of Arizona’s Center for the Philosophy of Freedom.
The Show spoke with her to learn about what she found.
