USPS holiday deadlines are quickly approaching

December is the busiest month for the U.S. Postal Service, and the deadlines to get those holiday gifts and cards in the mail are quickly approaching.

John Hyatt is with the USPS. He says the dates recommended by the Postal Service are just over a week away.

“If someone chooses to send their mail or packages by USPS retail ground, that they get those into the postal service system by Dec. 15. First-class mail for cards, letters, and small packages we’re encouraging by Dec. 17,” Hyatt said.

Hyatt says the Postal Service has more workers this year than last year with over 40,000 new workers hired for deliveries. The agency has also installed more than 100 new processing machines across the country.
