Nearly $30 million will be invested in efforts to address the homeless crisis in Maricopa County after the Board of Supervisors signed their approval Wednesday.
The investments are funded by the Biden administration’s American Rescue Plan Act and will align with the region’s overall plan to address housing insecurity.
The majority of the money will fund the construction of 352 new shelter beds.
The rest will be allocated for rapid rehousing services as well as toward preventing the recurrence of homelessness.
Construction for the projects is expected to begin in 2022.
