The Sonoran capital Hermosillo is now considered high risk for coronavirus spread, according to state health authorities, who recently updatedtheir city-level risk metric.
The capital and largest city is the only municipality with the unenviable distinction, but many other major cities are considered moderate risk, as is the state as a whole by federal authorities. That includes the border cities of Nogales, Agua Prieta and San Luis Rio Colorado, as well as Cajeme, home to the states’ second-largest city Ciudad Obregon.
Rocky Point and Guaymas, both home to beach resorts popular with Arizona visitors, are considered low risk.
