Phoenix wasn’t the only city that saw storms last night; the system moved up through Flagstaff as well.
Snow and rain on Tuesday night led to roads freezing on Wednesday morning with moderate risk levels for driving.
Those icy conditions have led to accidents on Interstate 40.
Darren McCollum is the lead meteorologist for the National weather service in Flagstaff. He says while the snow was intense, it didn’t last long.
“Snow, blowing snow, with wind gusts in the 50 mile per hour range, white out conditions at times, but it was fast moving, so by 3 o’clock it was out of the area.”
Flagstaff saw about 1.6 inches of snow last night. The area is predicted to be dryer on Wednesday, with driving conditions getting safer throughout the day with sunnier skies.
The National Weather Service is expecting to see a high of 35 degrees.
