Maricopa County has a new supervisor: Thomas Galvin was unanimously appointed to the county’s Board of Supervisors last week. He replaces Steve Chucri, who resigned after leaked audio showed him talking about his colleagues behind their backs and promoting election conspiracy theories.
The board has been at the center of the controversy surrounding the aftermath of the 2020 election and Senate Republicans’ audit of Maricopa County ballots. Republicans and Democrats alike on the board decried the audit and defended the county’s election procedures.
Galvin is a Republican land use attorney who used to be an adviser at the state's Corporation Commission.
The Show spoke with him to learn about his new role after his first week on the job.
