School during the pandemic is even tougher when one of your children is high risk

The last 20 months have tested us all, but for parents of young kids, the stress of keeping children safe and learning through school closures, reopenings and COVID-19 mitigation tactics has been a challenge.

Nicole Wheatcroft is one working Phoenix mom who has been navigating it all.

Her youngest son, Jude, also has Down syndrome and is at greater risk of complications from COVID-19, so there has also been an added layer of fear for her in terms of keeping him safe and supporting his development.

The Show spoke with her to learn about her pandemic experience, beginning with just how hard it was to navigate it all.
