Rep. Raul Grijalva says evidence shows coordination behind Jan. 6th insurrection

Arizona Congressman Raul Grijalva said the committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol has evidence that the Trump White House coordinated with members of Congress to overturn election results.

Grijalva said his fellow Arizona congressmen, Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs, were involved.

"There's no question that that was orchestrated and the White House had a role in it," Grijalva said. "And in my mind there's no question that members of Congress aided and abetted that effort and Gosar and Biggs are part of that package."

Grijalva said Gosar never accepted President Donald Trump's defeat.

“He helped create the big lie, and to this day continues to directly undercut and try to destroy our democracy," Grijalva said.

Gosar said members of Congress often push back when the opposing party wins a presidential election. He said he’s being unfairly singled out.

“It would have been a dereliction of duty not to stand up," Gosar said. "The hypocrisy is mind-blowing."

But Grijalva said Gosar and a small group of other congressional Republicans went much further than just questioning an election.
