Over the course of 2021, KJZZ News covered a wide range of stories about Arizona's business and economy. As 2022 approaches, here's a look back at the three most-viewed business stories on KJZZ.org this year.

1. Metrocenter Mall will be demolished. Here's what will go up in its place

Demolition and major redevelopment are coming to an iconic property in Phoenix. In December, KJZZ's Christina Estes got an exclusive look at the plans for the area. 

2. Phoenix Chase Tower to be vacant by Oct. 1

Arizona’s tallest building, known as Chase Tower, saw big changes in 2021 when Chase officially moved out in the fall. For the past three years, employees have been moving to Chase’s new campus and corporate office in Tempe.

3. Check out redevelopment plans for Phoenix Christown Spectrum Mall

Meterocenter wasn't the only mall news in town in 2021. Kimco, the management company for Christown Spectrum Mall located at the southeast corner of 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road, said in March it would request a zoning change to create a more urban environment.
