Embry Health CEO says COVID-19 testing situation is bleak right now

Arizona reported 14,192 new cases of COVID-19 to its dashboard Jan. 3 after a two-day period of more than 15,000 to start off 2022.

This shows that the holidays, as expected, contributed to further spread of the virus. And these massive numbers only tell part of the story, because they don’t reflect any at-home tests that came back positive.

Testing of all kinds has become scarce as of late, with long wait times or no appointments available, and those at-home kits are often sold out.

Throughout the pandemic, Embry Health has been a reliable source for testing here in Arizona, but that is also beginning to dwindle.

The Show spoke to its CEO, Raymond Embry, to paint the picture he’s seeing at his testing locations.
