This writer tried to overcome her fears by delving into the science behind fear itself

There’s a lot for us to be afraid of in the world. And for some people, the last nearly two years has only added to that.

But why are we afraid of the things we’re afraid of, and what are some ways we can avoid having those fears consume our lives?

Freelance writer Eva Holland explores those and other questions in her book, “Nerve: Adventures in the Science of Fear.”

The Show spoke with her and asked how she got interested in the concept of fear, and decided to write a book about it.
