On Thursday afternoon, a vigil will be held at the Arizona Capitol lawn to reflect on one year since the Jan. 6 insurrection.
Executive director of the Arizona Faith Network, Katie Sexton-Wood, is in charge of one the organizations behind this event.
“We are coming together to mourn the violence that occurred, mourn the division that has been and is still present in our country, and unite together to remind one another that we can be better," Sexton-Wood said.
Other organizations involved in the 4 p.m. vigil include African American Christian Clergy Coalition, Mi Familia Vota, Rural Arizona Action and AZ Jews for Justice.
