On the Jan. 5 episode of The Show, we heard from Democratic gubernatorial candidate Marco Lopez about his plans to increase diversity and equity in the state.
The issue has become a big one in this primary after two jury verdicts found a state Senate staffer, Talonya Adams, was the victim of racial and gender discrimination after she was fired for complaining about being paid less than her white and male colleagues.
Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, another candidate in the Democratic primary for governor, was Senate minority leader at the time and has acknowledged, and apologized for, her role in the firing.
Continuing the series, The Show heard from the third Democrat in the race: former state Rep. Aaron Lieberman. The conversation focused on some of the highlights of his diversity, equity and inclusion plan.
