After Jan. 6, some children reported their parents to the FBI. But their questions remain

Jan. 6 marks one year after the attack at the U.S. Capitol, and on it, we’re hearing a lot about this tragic day in American history.

President Joe Biden spoke at the U.S. Capitol, calling it an assault on democracy.

U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego  told The Show that he couldn’t believe some Americans were willing to violently attack each other for political purposes.

And this week, southern Arizona Congressman Raúl Grijalva called for it to push us forward to preserve democracy.

One journalist took a different approach to the anniversary, talking to people  whose parents stormed the Capitol building in Washington, D.C., about how they are dealing with it, and how it’s torn apart their families.

Fortesa Latifi writes for Teen Vogue. The Show spoke to her about her reporting, and how difficult it was to find people willing to talk about their parents’ roles.
