Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management announced plans last week to expand the school’s outreach.
The initiative is called “100 Million Learners,” as the school is attempting to reach 100 million people worldwide with five business courses, translated into 40 languages.
Thunderbird School Dean Sanjeev Khagram says the goal for 2022 is to have every course done in multiple languages, and to try and expand their translations in 2023.
By December, we'll have all of the courses done. All five courses are done in at least 10 languages. And then, from there, we go out and go from 10 to 40 languages, you know, in 2023,” said Khagram.
Khagram says the school has a four-pronged outreach program to reach a worldwide audience, including social media influencers, digital marketing and partnerships with organizations across the world.
“Our goal is to have 10 global partnerships, you know, sort of worldwide, you know, big institutions that work globally. And then 10 partnerships per region, Africa, Asia, Latin America, Middle East, Europe, so forth, right, those partners are going to be getting the word out,” said Khagram.
Khagram says once students finish the five courses, they will be granted a 15-credit certificate that they can use at the Thunderbird School, or at other universities around the world.
He says the first course will be available in April.
