The pandemic has highlighted economic inequities. Will free at-home tests and masks help?

Americans can now order up to four free at-home COVID-19 tests through the federal government, and the Biden administration is also planning to send 400 million N95 masks out for free, as well.

Many working families have been struggling throughout the pandemic, from health care costs to finding child care, to buying masks and at-home tests. 

Swapna Reddy is a clinical associate professor at Arizona State University's College of Health Solutions.

The Show spoke with her to learn how these steps from the government could reduce the inequities seen throughout the pandemic.
