American Lung Association finds funding is a problem for tobacco prevention programs in Arizona

There’s some good news and some less-than-good news when it comes to efforts to reduce tobacco use in Arizona.

A new report released Jan. 26 from the American Lung Association finds the state gets an A for laws banning smoking in most public places and businesses.

But Arizona gets failing grades for funding tobacco prevention programs and the level of state tobacco taxes.

JoAnna Strother is a senior director of advocacy for the American Lung Association in Arizona.

The Show spoke with her to learn about the study and its findings.
